Learn How to Contact Your State and County Elected Officials

Maryland State Archives – Enter your address to find out who your elected officials are, including US Senators, Representatives, State Senator and Delegates, with links to contact information for each official. For county council district, see below.

Find Your Voting Districts – You can learn what all your numbered voting districts are at this Maryland State Board of Elections site. Enter your address, and you will see a “Polling Place Search” screen. Scroll down and click on “My Voting Districts.”

Contact the County Executive – Email address, phone number, and address for County Executive Baker’s office.

Contact Your County Council Members – Find the name, contact information, photograph, and calendar for each Council Member representing Districts 1-9. If you are not sure what district you’re in, see above.

Prince George’s County Board of Education

PGCPS Board of Education Districts map – Find your BOE district.

PGCPS Board of Education Official Page – Includes contact information and photos for each board member, links to watch board meetings videos and to BoardDocs, and information on how to testify at Board of Education meetings.

How to Testify at Board of Education Meetings:

To speak at a Board of Education meeting, please call 301-952-6115 to register at least 2.5 hours before the scheduled meeting time.  Participants may speak for 3 minutes. Submit your comments electronically about Board Agenda Items to testimony@pgcps.org.

Prince George’s County Public Schools Administration

Chief Executive Officer – Contact the office of CEO Kevin Maxwell. Read his biography here.

Office of the Ombudsman – The Ombudsman serves as an independent party that seeks to resolve school and school-system issues of concerns from students, parents, and the public.  Submit a concern online.

Department of Family and Community Engagement – This department is charged with parent outreach efforts and handling constituent concerns.

PGCPS Administrative Organizational Chart and PGCPS Office and Program Directory.

Guide to Addressing Questions and Concerns – Explains whom to contact for different areas of concern, and how to move up the chain of command if the concern is not resolved.

PGCPS Employee Directory – Not a list of employees, but a search window. Type in the name of the employee you’re looking for and find email, phone number, job location, and official job title.

Maryland State Department of Education

Overview of the Maryland State Department of Education – Information about the divisions within MSDE.

Maryland Report Card – A wealth of MSDE data (given by school, county, and state) regarding test scores, graduation rates, demographics, school expenditures, and more.

Maryland State Board of Education. Board members are appointed, not elected. Names and photos of board members are found here. No contact information for state board members is provided, though a phone number and email address for the board office is given at the bottom of this page.

Guidelines and Procedures for Public Comment – To testify at Maryland State Board of Education meetings, call (410-767-0467) or e-mail (charlene.necessary@maryland.gov) the Board office no earlier than one week prior to the meeting to register to speak and no later than 3 pm on the last business day before the scheduled meeting.

Maryland General Assembly

General Assembly of Maryland Department of Legislative Services  – Official website of the General Assembly includes information about the budget, policy analysis, and how to contact the General Assembly.
